1930’s Moscow. A promising young writer at the height of his career finds himself in the middle of a scandal of both literary and political nature – his new novel is being crushed by harsh idealistic critics, who say that his vivid depiction of Christ is absolutely unacceptable in the atheistic Soviet Union. The theatrical premier of the writer’s play is canceled, his colleagues and friends avoid him like the plague, and in just a few short days the writer becomes an outcast. Soon after, the writer meets a beautiful married woman by the name of Margarita.They have no conceivable future together, but what does that matter in the face of true love?

Michael Lockshin grew up in both the USA and Russia, and has merged his cinematic passions from both worlds in his filmmaking. He has shot over 100 commercials in the past 10 years for brands like Bud, Nike, McDonalds, which have won numerous prizes, including Cannes Young Director’s award, Golden Drum, Shots, and have gone viral. In 2019 he shot his first feature film – Silver Skates, criminal romance, which dominated the Russian box office for two weeks. "Silver Skates" is the first Russian film to air on the "Netflix Originals" platform.
